A fire broke out today around 1:20 p.m. on the roof of one of the Plaza Square Apartments buildings. The three-alarm fire was quickly extinguished but created a considerable sight as it produced heavy dark smoke on the dowtown skyline. Ecology of Absence happened to be on its way into downtown at the time of the blaze and snapped these photographs.

It's a hot summer in St. Louis, folks.

Television channel 4 (KMOV) has posted additional coverage onto its website.
