Arlington School

LOCATION: 1617 Burd Avenue; Saint Louis, Missouri
DATE OF CONSTRUCTION: 1899
ARCHITECT: William B. Ittner
DATES OF ABANDONMENT: 1994 - present
OWNER: Saint Louis Public Schools

This graceful, understated brick school stands neglected in an economically-depressed area of north city. The Arlington School has sustained water damage and vandalism (note the holes in the cornice where ornament once was), but is in fairly stable structural condition. Some more information is available at Built St. Louis.
